Gladly going to the beach the past 8 weekends has restored my spirit to homely memories and created new healthy cycles with the one I love.

The sweet cold is now in the air and I am wearing pants to bed. It’s 8° in the mornings now.

Building routines is a matter of adjustment and is somewhat uncomfortable. Spouts of mania and depression characterise first, trying to build atop of that is definitely tricky. Small moments of glee or peace are the shimmers of life.

Picking up materials…

Images from a little walk when I needed more pieces for my assemblage. I began collecting interesting bits and pieces observing their texture and shape formed by nature or cut by man throughout the year, from about June or July. Finding sticks, bits of trees and other bark pieces on my walk to school and back or on a journey to a friend’s house.
I thank my pals for their patience whilst on walks with me but I can’t say it’s all over after the joy I had in making the work.

How about a Rainbow? at FCAC

This show was so so so cute and amazing gave my lots of giggles and had the works that had VR used it so well! A few things I noticed were layers of coloured pencil retarding a layer of paint and the use of text as texture constructed around other scrunchy shapes. Potentially accidental marks soothed me and the explanations of drawings were great.
A fantastic show to see while spending the day in the sun making herself that lives in a draw

I recently had whanau visit in Melbourne and had sweet surprise seeing koru and tatau patterns used in the artwork by Tama tk Sharman (site). Serious love eye emoji feels when coupled with mould, phallic pieces and the word cunt on a title card.
